Man Investments Trophy to bring crème de la crème of Singapore hockey together

30 June 2010, SINGAPORE | As part of the world-leading alternative investment business, Man Investment's sponsorship of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (YOG) hockey squad, a unique one off challenge match has been organised. Entitled the "Man Investment Trophy" the match will feature the YOG squad and the Man Investment All Stars. The All Stars team will feature the cream of Singapore's hockey encompassing players across backgrounds, clubs and nationalities.

On Saturday 10 July, 5.00 pm, this congregation of exceptional talent will clash at the handsome Sengkang Stadium in the North East of Singapore. It's noteworthy that there will be sponsorship contract signing ceremony before the match starts between officials from Man Investments and the Singapore Hockey Federation (SHF).

Hockey will not be the only entertainment on show, as along pitch side and during half time various activities will be taking place along with food and beverage to keep spectators well engaged on game day.

The hockey fraternity is fortunate to welcome Man Investment an esteemed member of the corporate world, which manages approximately USD39.1 billion (as of 31 March 2010) and employs approximately 1,400 people in 14 countries worldwide, into the hockey fold.

Man has a market capitalisation of approximately USD6.3 billion (as of 31 March 2010) is also a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the FTSE4Good Index and supports many awards, charities and initiatives around the world, including sponsorship of the Man Asian Literary Prize and Man Booker literary prizes.

The SHF which was formed in 1992 is the product of a merger between the Singapore Hockey Association and the Singapore Women's Hockey Association. Since then the sport has grown steadily and now is amongst the fastest growing sports in the island republic.

The partnership with Man should aid further growth. -story by SHF
