| CSC stamp class in Div 2 opener
18 July 2010, SINGAPORE |CSC stamped their class in the opening game of the Singapore Hockey Federation (SHF) Men's Division 2 with a double trouncing of d'Masters 5-1 and Tornados 4-0. The latter have recruited new blood into their team but came undone by the fast paced CSC side.
The Balestier club too have been slowly building a competent team and it looks like their year this time around. Meanwhile, Old Rafflesians Association edged d'Masters 3-2 to get off to a winning start and will play Singapore Recreation Club (SRC) this weekend.
The Singapore Veterans Hockey Association (SVHA) also took all three points on offer with a fine 1-0 win over Police Sports Association. SRC too started off with a 1-0 win as they downed Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). The unlucky NYP also fell 1-0 to Hollandse Club the next day to conclude a disappointed debut in Division 2. Hollandse Club in the meantime have returned to winning ways following their 4-2 reverse in their opener against a young Indian Association (IA) team.
This weekend pits the unsettled d'Masters against Tornados while Police lock horns with Hollandse Club, SVHA's clashes with IA and the National Women make their debut this term against NYP.
